The irony in the story is that we think that the men will survive the attack but it is implied that they die
Personification can be seen in the quote "a mass of falling beech tree had thundered down on them". This is Ulrich talking about how the branch was falling and landing like thunder
A piece of imagery from the story is the quote "a deed of Nature's own violence overwhelmed them both." Meaning that the branch falling them is nature's act of hatred towards them
Naturalism is a style and theory of representation based on the accurate depiction of detail. In the story, Saki uses and describes the tree that is used as a huge plot detail when it falls on the men.
