  • Of the 1,531,251 arrests for drug law violations in 2011, 81.8% were for possession of a controlled substance. Only 18.2% were for the sale or manufacturing of a drug.
  • Drugs are sold all over the world. A U.N. report said "the global drug trade generated an estimated U.S.$321.6 billion in 2003.
  • More than 22 million Americans age 12 and older- nearly 9% of the U.S. population- use illegal drugs, according to the government's 2010 National Survey on Drug Use and Health.
  • A report reveals that on an average day in 2008, approximately 563,000 juveniles used marijuana.
  • Students who consider themselves popular were more likely to use drugs.
  • The top five most dangerous drugs are Heroin, Cocaine, Barbiturates, Street Methadone, and Alcohol.
  • Using illegal drugs or any drugs can lead to death.
