Water challenge storyboard
What is the challenge of “water supply and demand”?
The challenge of "water supply and demand" in the Southwest isn't actually a challenge of "water supply and demand".
It’s really the challenge of sustainable built environment, including "agricultural built environment", that is the crux of the water issue in the South West (or anywhere for that matter).
Obsolescence, inefficiency, permanency, and stranded costs of the existing built environments and infrastructure that society is committed to living and working in is the major driver of the problem.
Intelligent planning, design, and modernization that allows for economic growth without depleting resources can happen more readily through open source approaches and integrated built environment ventures.
Education and learning will initiate the modernization. Project Based Learning activities on effective and profitable collaboration with owners and municipalities on built environment development will lead to actual built environment modernization ventures.
Based on the principles of open source, empowerment, education, and community, the Built Environment Innovation Cooperative (BEIC) addresses this challenge. BEIC operates laterally promoting participation both internally, and through a focus on community interaction, and support.
