  • The Black Panther party was formed in October 15, 1966. They were a minority group who were against the U.S. government, and fought to establish racial equality through mass organizing.
  • The Black Panthers - where
  • The Black Panthers were initially formed to protect local communities (African American citizens) from police brutality and racial injustice that happened in many American states.
  • The Black Panthers - why
  • The group ended in 1982. In the early 70s however the Black Panthers repeatedly came into conflict with the Police, and because of this it sent one of the more prominent members Huey Newton to prison.

  • The Black Panthers were self-defense minority group who were against the U.S government and the choices they made. They fought to establish racial injustice and inequality through mass organisations.

  • They used violent tactics, there were a number of shoot outs and because of this many of the Black Panther members to jail. In one incident a patrolman was shot and killed and again many of the black panther members were sent to jail.
