'To Be, or Not To Be?
The ghost informs Hamlet that it was Claudius that poisoned him - not a snake. 'A murder most foul'
Hamlet puts on a play to make sure Claudius is guilty. 'The point is there's a play being performed for the King tonight...' Claudius shouts 'STOP THE PLAY', he was guilty.
" I don't care about what I've done!'
'To be, or Not To be, that is the question ?' Hamlet stands in front of his mirror and wonders whether he should live or die.
"Hamlet is as mad as the sea..."
Claudius prays to God to forgive all of his sins. Hamlet comes behind him and has the chance to stab him in the head. But he didn't because he thought Claudius would go to heaven. 'My ... by praying or confessing, so why should his murderer be given that chance?'
Gertrude calls Hamlet in for a chat and Polonius eavesdrops on their conversation. Hamlet hears him and thinks it is Claudius who is spying on him. His stabs vigorously through the curtain and kills Polonius. Gertrude agrees not to tell anyone what had happened. 'What’s this, a rat? I’ll bet a buck he’s a dead rat now.'
Gertrude breaks her promise and tells Claudius what has happened. She describes Hamlet as being, 'Mad as the sea during a violent storm.'
