steve was a farmer in arkansas that had a happy wife and two kids.
he made good money working on his farm. he farmed crops, raised cattle, and pigs.
then the stock market crashed and the banks were failing. steve lost some money and was struggling to keep the farm.
steve had to get an extra job to be able to keep the farm and support his family
Then FDR made a new deal for the farmers that benefitted them by making the crop prices higher so he got more pay.
Steve no longer needed his extra job after FDR's new deal program and he got to keep his farm. the new deal program saved steves farm.
