James Gatz was a rich young man. He came from nothing in north dakota so he is living proof of the American dream, but he gained his fortune through illegal activities such as bootlegging. His lover is daisy, he adores her more than any. Even though he is rich his main goal is to win her love. In the end Gatz ends up getting killed for a misunderstanding Jordan baker is a professional golfer. The book doesn't tell us much about her appearance but does say she gets a lot of attention from men. She is daisy's friend in the book. she is also young and wealthy like Gatsby but she is a shallow person. Nick and Jordan break up at the end of the book.
Daisy is a young beautiful women that comes from Louisville. Nick is her cousin and Gatsby is obsessed with her. She almost waited for Gatsby to marry him after he left for war in 1919, but ended up marrying tom. She is in love with money and capable of a relationship but she isn't loyal. in the end she runs away because she was involved in killing myrtle. Tom Burchanan is daisy's husband that comes from a wealthy Chicago family that takes pride in his rough ways. He comes of as a mini Donald trump, mean, arrogant, and a little racist. He lives a luxurious life style riding horses , driving fast cars etc.
George is mrytles unassuming husband and a typical blue collar guy. He owns a garage and gas station in the valley of ashes which is a place for the poor. He finds out about his wifes double life and is pissed. In the end he ends up killing Gatsby because a misunderstanding The story's narrator. Nick rents the small house next to Gatsby's mansion in West Egg and helps Gatsby reunite with Daisy (who happens to be Nick's cousin). Nick's Midwestern ways finds the East an unsettling place, and he becomes disillusioned with how wealthy socialites like the Buchanans lead their lives. ben currie
