  • I am so happy you got public schools for boys, but we need school for African Americans and woman too.
  • Maybe that lady was right...
  • I think we should add to the movement about women and African Americans going to school.
  • I will think about it...
  • This was when Horace Mann's movement for public schools was ending and he won but now he realizes there is more to be done for not just boys.
  • Instead of just all boy schools there should be African American and women schools.
  • Later that night he thought about what the lady said and started writing down what to say to one of his helpers about it.
  • I don't know what I think about what Mr.Mann said.
  • I think that he is right and that we should protest until we get the other schools in.
  • Horace Mann told his helper about what the women said and eventually they both agreed with the idea but it took a little bit of begging.
  • African American and women schools now opening!
  • He went out and started to talk to people and encourage people to stand up for there rights for education.
  • People were talking about it. A lot wanted women and African American schools up and running but some didn't.
  • After a lot of debates he finally won and they started putting up women and African American schools up.
