Macbeth and Banquo, on the way back from a battle victory, encounter 3 witches. They prophesise that Macbeth with be Thane of Cawdor and then king. Macbeth then gets the news that he has been made Thane of Cawdor and invites the king to come for dinner.
Lady Macbeth hears about the prophecy and creates a plan to kill King Duncan. That night Lady Macbeth drugs the wine and gets the guards to drink it and Macbeth sneaks in and kills the king. Macbeth leaves the bloody dagger beside the dead king and when Macduff arrives he discovers the murder. Malcom and Donalbain (Duncan's sons) flee, fearing for their lives.
Macbeth is made King of Scotland but is swamped with guilt. He arranges for Banquo and his son Fleance to be killed but only Banquo is killed; Fleance escapes. At this point Macbeth is having many hallucinations.
Macbeth goes to see the witches and they tell him that he will be safe until Birnam Wood comes to his castle and that he can not be harmed by any man born of woman. Finally they say that the Scottish succession will come from Macduffs son leading to Macbeth murdering all of Macduffs family. When Macduff finds out, him and Malcom lead and army against Macbeth.
Macbeth is feeling very safe in his castle untilhe is informed that Birnam Wood IS moving towards him. It turns out that Malcom's army are using the trees in Birnam Wood as camouflage! Meanwhile Lady Macbeth reveales her secrets in her sleep to a listening doctor and kills herself as the final battle commences.
The battle is coming to an end when Macbeth and Macduff meet in the battle field. Macbeth obviously is confident due to the witches prophecy but it turns out that Macduff was ript from his mothers womb (Born from Suzerain)! Macduff cuts of Macbeths head and... yeah, that's the end of Macbeth!
