  • Adams is Elected
  • I like being the new Secretary

  • After there wasn't enough Electoral College for any candidates, John Adams and Henry Clay made a deal to make Adams president and Clay the Secretary.
  • Andrew Jackson
  • I had more votes than Adams… I should be president. This is unfair.
  • Henry Clay convinced the House of Representatives to vote for Adams and make him president.
  • Mudslinging
  • I got more votes than you, I should be president! You suck!
  • When Adams was elected, he made Henry Clay the Secretary of the State.
  • ELECTION OF 1828
  • Andrew Jackson had more votes that Adams, so he believed he became president unfairly.
  • When Jackson got angry at Adams, he would say bad things bout him. This was called mudslinging.
  • NO YOU SUCK!
  • Andrew Jackson's mudslinging campaign worked, and he became president in 1828. Adams' presidency was terrible for him.
