Storyboard Text

  • Setting
  • Characterization
  • Foreshadowing
  • It was a clear and sunny morning in the summer. It's in a small village at almost 10:00 AM. The setting contributes to the initial mood of happy and fun.
  • Climax
  • Tessie is selfish because the author talks about her blaming others. She is rude in some of the things she says and she tries to make her daughters draw the slips of paper with her.
  • Irony
  • It is foreshadowing when Mrs. Hutchinson gets upset because it gives you the idea that something bad is going to happen.
  • Reflection
  • The climax of the story is when Tessie draws the paper with the black spot. It changes the story because all of the sudden they start throwing rocks at her. It is the most important part of the story.
  • It is irony that the person who was late to the whole thing is the person to draw the slip of paper with the black dot. It is situational irony.
  • Tradition can impact your behavior for better or for worse. One tradition we have in Piedmont that impacts our behavior is DUCK Week. It makes us all realize the importance of giving and caring for others. It should continue because it brings our community closer while helping people in need.
