Tokyo Digs A Garden
By: Jon-Erik Lappano
Tokyo and his grandfather reminisce on the days when they would look out their window, and see open land. They missed seeing the forest that once existed, and the roaring rivers that flowed through it.
Now, the town has developed into a busy city. Tokyo longs for his town to be like it was in the past. When all of a sudden, a woman grants him three seeds, and orders him to plant them.
Tokyo questions why the woman asks him to plant the seeds, but does so anyways. The next day, he sees that the seeds begin to blossom uncontrollably.
The streets turn to rivers of flowing water, and people begin to travel by boat. The buildings are covered by flowers and large trees. Tokyo sees the aftermath, and regrets planting the seeds.
Tokyo's grandfather tells Tokyo that he made the right choice. He tells Tokyo, all the town can do now is live their lives in the midst of the garden. Tokyo learns to appreciate the beauty of the garden.
