  • Ok father.
  • Build me a palace . I want soaring high towers, a curved roof, and a maze in the cellars.
  • **grrrrr(stomach)....i'm hungry so i'm gonna eat you all roarrrrrrr
  • Ahhhhhhh help!! I'm getting eaten!
  • OMG!
  • OMG!
  • I don't like what the maze is used for. I'm before you because I wanted to ask for your money so I shall leave Crete with my son.
  • NO! I will not allow you to take my money nor leave Crete with your son. I need you here.
  • One day, king Minos, the king of Crete, wanted his son Daedalus and his son Icarus to build a palace for him with soaring high towers, a curving roof, and a maze in the cellars. And so he did, Daedalus built a palace for his father.
  • hmm..I wonder why he wants a maze in the cellars..
  • Once Daedalus finished building the palace, he was so proud. Only Daedalus didn't know the purpose for the maze in the cellar. The reason was so that king Minos could put a creature that was half man, half beast. The beast was called it the Minotaur, and fed it on men and women.
  • Daedalus didn't like what the maze was for so he wanted to leave Crete at once. He went to King Minos to ask for his money and King Minos declined. Daedalus stayed, but started to create wings out of feathers and wax.
  • I'm sorry father...I should've listened to you...**splash..
  • NO! ICARUS!! *sob..sob...sob,sob.
  • You must be quiet. We are leaving Crete at once. Stay still so I shall put your wings on with hot candle wax.
  • Then one morning, Icarus was awoken by Daedalus( his father) shaking his shoulder. Daedalus explained to Icarus what he had made and that they are leaving Crete. Daedalus made four great folded fans of feathers. They were wings! He had sewn feathers together with wool. Daedalus melted a candle and put some on Icarus's shoulder and stuck the wings on.
  • What? Does king Minos know? This is against his rules! He doesn't know! ha! lets go..! Those wings are sick father. I'm ready...but really nervous...oh gosh...
  • NO! Don't out run the sun! Don't get too high up or else your wings will melt off! ICARUS!! STOP!!
  • After the wax on Icarus had dried, he stood on the window ledge and took off nicely. Once They were both flying, Daedalus told Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, but the guards saw both Daedalus and Icarus, so Icarus flew up higher, higher, and even more higher.
  • I'm doing it! I'm flying! I'm going to make history! Let's out run the sun!
  • At last, Icarus was looking the sun it's self in the face, but Icarus was determined he could fly higher than where the sun was placed. He started to sweat, the wax on his shoulders softened and trickled then dripped. A plume of feathers fluttered down to the earth's surface. The wings fell of of Icarus, and he started to fall down and down, head first into the sparkling sea. Daedalus, watched him. And there was a pile of litter of waxy feathers floating on the surface. Daedalus then knew his son had died.
