I found out later that night we were transported to Poland to a camp known as Auschwitz. From the moment the prisoners were pulled out the box cars, chaos erupted. Families were split apart, people got their heads shaved. In some instances, people were killed immediately.
There were two areas to the ghetto. One was the labor area where "farmers" would grow crops for food. Luckily for me, I was put here... And you'll find out why in the next box.
This ghetto wasn't just a labor camp, but an extermination camp. The German guards took dying people, most old people, and anyone who they thought wasn't capable for the job and put them in a gas chamber where they would suffocate to death! Then, the Nazis would cook their body to ashes in a human-sized oven!
I was doomed... It had only been two months and I already feel dead. I was hungry, scared, and alone (now that all the friends I tried to make were dead). Death was calling my name.
