Storyboard Text

  • Over the next few pages, Prospero re-lives the memories of how he lost his dukedom. Evidently, we can feel that Prospero is struggling to remember and relieve the events of the exile. Through this we can indicate that Prospero is angry, and lacks in understanding of the part he played in the exile. Miranda listens attentively, but Prospero loses his temper with her regularly as he feels she is not paying attention, but throughout the next few pages she begins to open up to curiosity : Disovery is complex, and their is a process to understanding...
  • Wherefore did they not, that hour destroy us? How came we ashore??
  • Miranda is open to the idea of new information, however Miranda's discovery has been limited through Prospero's unyielding detail of information.
  • "Here cease more questions. Thou art inclined to sleep. 'Tis a good dullness, and give it way, I know thou canst not choose"
  • Enter, Ariel, the spirit who is bound to serve Prospero as he rescued him from the tree in which he was imprisoned by Sycorax, the witch who previously lived on the island. We soon learn that Ariel obeyed Prospero's commands and created a display of fire, that caused terror on the ship, and reports that they are all safe.
  • "I boarded the King's ship. Now on the beak, Now in the waist, the deck, in every cabin"
  • My brave spiriti!
  • I prithee, Remember I have done thee worthy service, Told thee no lies, made no mistakings, served without or grudge or grumblings. Thou did promise to bate me a full year"
  • "Go make thyself like to a nymph o'th'sea." Prospero threatens ariel and orders him to disguise himself as an invisible sea-nymph.
  • Miranda wakes up, and enter the slave Caliban, son of Sycorax..who evidently attempted to rape Miranda. While Miranda, demands he become imprisoned, Caliban curses her, but obeys orders to leave .
  • "As wicked dew as e'er my mother brushed with raven's feather from unwholesome fen"
  • Enter Ferdinand, from the shipwrecked royal court, who see's Miranda and describes her as being a godess. Prospero assures her that he is human, after believing he is a spirit. ITS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT...
  • Ferdinand asks if she is a virgin... *wow thats a lot of information for a first meeting* "O you wonder- If you be a maid , or no?"
  • No wonder sir, but certainly a maid"
