One day the Israelites were at mount Sinai. God said to them "if you accept the Torah, excellent, and if not, there will be your burial" (Masechet Shabbat 88a). They feared for their lives so they accepted.
We don't want the Torah
ACCEPT IT OR DIE!
The people discussed. One said "From here there is a substantial caveat to the obligation to fulfill the Torah" the others said "Even so, they again accepted it willingly in the time of Ahasuerus, as it is written" (Masechet Shabbat 88a)
Hmmmmmm, that is very interesting I need to think.
This cannot be! The nation was forced to accept the Torah. Rabbi What is the answer?
Aha! The answer to your problem is complicated. True the Torah was forced upon the nation. However, the Jews during the time of Ahashvarosh did. This justified it and we are all ok
YAYAYAYAYA WE HAVE THE TORAH
Oh Moshe why are you like this? Of course I didn't want to threaten them but I had to. I know they would accept it no matter what but I really love them and I didn't want to risk it.
God cmon dude, how could you treat the nation like this? Im sure if ypu asked the israelites they would say yes.
The purpose of the Torah is very simple. The Torah connects me and the people and it is important. The people need to live by this. The role of the Torah is a guide book and a representation of how the chosen people Bnei Yisrael and I are connected.
