Storyboard Text

  • I'm from the city engineering department, Madame
  • please tell me
  • so you've found out at last
  • .......we paid our taxes and made out a multitude of forms and answered questions of various officials at regular intervals...then after awhile we were sent no notices and we paid no more taxes....
  • oh no i can do this or the chief is gonna kill me
  • oh yes, you could have the top floor of my house. i have more space than i know what to do with
  • im sorry i cant do that i really must leave!
  • A woman who Marc guessed was some sixty years of age was watering roses in the garden of the first house to his right. he took off his hat and announced:
  • you're FIRED!
  •
  • It was a curious story. for several years, she said the tenants of green bottle Street had lived in amity with each other and the landlord, who also resided in one of the little houses.
  • excuse me Ma'am, this is not your property anymore
  • The nice old lady asked Marc if he'd like to stay with her, but he refused because he was too scared of his chief firing him. he just wanted things to be perfect again.
  • Later that same day, Marc went straight back to his boss hoping that the Chief would not kill him. but his Chief was so angry about the fact that it had been fifteen years since green bottle street was last inspected, he fired Marc almost without thinking.
  • once the chief knew about the residents of green bottle street, he forced them to pay fifteen years of taxes, and because most of the residents of green bottle street had not being making money for fifteen years, they were forced out of their homes.
  • After getting fired from his job, Marc Girondin lost his sense of purpose and for the rest of his life he lived his life miserably and without meaning. THE END.
