Storyboard Text

  • Falling Action: Ulrich says they should shout for help but Georg doesn't think it will work and after Ulrich sees figures in the distance.
  • HELP!
  • Lets see if we cant get help. Lets try yelling maybe someone will hear us.
  • HELP!
  • Resolution: Georg asks, "How many are there." and Ulrich responds with, "9 or 10 and their coming fast too." Georg asks "Ulrich are they yours I only have 7 men out with me tonight." Ulrich responds with, "No." "Who are they?" Asks Georg. "Wolves." reponded Ulrich.
  • Their coming for us and fast too. About 9 or 10 of them.
  • No... Wolves.
  • Are they your men.
  • Theme: A message I learned from Georg and Ulrich's plight is some things just literally aren't worth fighting over. Like Georg and Ulrich who were fighting over a lousy piece of forest with trees that couldn't even stand up to a gust of wind. The feud had even come to murderous thoughts of killing the other person just so one family could claim ownership of the land. Things like this just aren't worth fighting over especially risking your life over and wasting so much time on. For over three generations they have been fighting over the land and never took a thought to coming to an agreement or why they hated each other so much and when they finally decided to end the feud it was too late.
  • Irony: An example of irony from the story is Georg and Ulrich finally stop fighting and become friends and think they are going to live and end up dyeing fighting wolves. They think they are being rescued when Ulrich says, "They hear us! They've stopped. Now they see us." Then Georg asks, "Are they your men?" and Ulrich responds with, "No... Wolves." Personification: An example of personification from the story is when the narrator says, "a deed of natures own violence overwhelmed them both. A fierce shriek of the storm had been answered by a splitting crash over their heads," Imagery: The description of Ulrich under the tree. "Ulrich von Gradwitz found himself stretched on the ground, one arm numb beneath him and the other held almost as helplessly in a tight tangle of branches, while both legs were pinned beneath the fallen mass."
  • Genre: The genre of The Interlopers is naturalism because nature is the reason for their deaths. An example is the tree limb falling on them which stops them from shooting one another and traps them in the forest. Another example is the wolves coming when they think they are being rescued and the Wolves are what kills them.
  • Miscellaneous: Ulrich and Georg make piece but it is to late. Message learned is don't hold grudges forever or one day when you try and make piece it might just be to late and destiny has already decided for you.
