When Moses was born the King declared that all Jewish Babies be killed so Moses's mum placed him in the river nile in a basket.
He was rescued and raised as an Egyptian prince.
When he realised who he was he went into exile. And was sick of how his people were being treated
Whilst in exile God spoke to him through a burning tree and told him to lead his people out of Israel.
Moses asked the king for the Jewish slaves to be set free. The King refused and god sent a number of plagues. The final plague was death of all the newborn children in Egypt.
In order for the Jews to escape the same fate they were instructed to paint the blood of a sacrificed Lamb on the outside of their door. This would signify that they were the holy people and that the plague should pass over in them, this night was known as Passover.
