  • Marley has boxes and chains which symbolize as the bad things he had done as weight to carry through the afterlife.

  • There is a light coming off of his light that illuminates all around him. The light symbolizes how he will brighten Scrooges past.

  • What a poor man, I understand why you are showing this now.

  • Scrooge is changing because now he is eager to learn how to become likable by the people of his town. The theme is that people are capable of change.
  • Scrooge gets mad at carolers and scares them off with rulers threatening them to hit them with it that indirectly characterizes him as a bad person.
  • Scrooge doesn't understand that the person who died was him.
