Johnny influenced Ponyboy's character development because Johnny was always by his side. If he got in a fight with Darry, Johnny would always be there with him to calm him down. When Ponyboy needed food at the church Johnny got it. He was always there, so Ponyboy became happy and caring because Johnny was his best friend so, he loved him. It reminded him that someone does love him so, he became happy and was caring towards Johnny.
The abandoned lot brought back memories to Ponyboy. Bad and good memories! For instance, when they found Johnny in shock back in the corner after he'd just been beat up by the socs or when they Dally got shot. They did however win the rumble there which was a good time for them. This influenced Ponyboy's character development because he was always reminded of how bad things can happen so it humbled his attitude.
The hospital influenced Ponyboy's character development because in that spot he talked to Johnny for the last time ever. Johnny told Ponyboy to stay gold which he later realized what it means. That was a special moment that Ponyboy will always remember. He also, became a hero in that hospital as the press called him. That was another speical moment in Ponyboy's life. So both of which will bring back everlasting memories that could make him sad. It caused him to see life in a whole new way!
