Storyboard Text

  • I am a god and I wish to make you my wife, I will turn this prison into a wonderful, sunny land.
  • This is my son, Perseus that I have blessed you with
  • I banish you, for having a child and now you will be shipped out to sea.
  • An oracle of Apollo told a king named Acrisius that the son of his daughter Danae would kill him, so he locked Danae in a bronze tower so she would never marry or have children.
  • Welcome to Seriphos
  • The tower only had one small window, which one day a god came in, although she didn't know which one it was. He said he would make her his wife. The god which came with the thunderbolt turned the prison into a blooming land.
  • Why won't you let me marry your mother?
  • One day Acrisius saw light coming out of the window, and when he entered the bronze tower, Danae was smiling and holding Perseus.
  • Will you "marry" me?
  • Out of anger, Acrisius cast out Dane and baby Perseus out to sea. They arrived safely at the island of Seriphos where Polydectes rule.
  • Perseus grew up to be a strong boy. Polydectes heard about Danae but she rejected. Polydectes was going to marry Danae by force, but Perseus got in the way. He was coming up with a plan to get rid of the young man.
  • Perseus went to Polydectes fake wedding without a gift, so he said he would bring anything and Polydectes asked for the head of the Gorgon Medusa. He set of for his voyage, wandering for many days until help came.
