  • Holden sneaks into Phoebe's room
  • Oh my! Holden, I'm so glad to see you!
  • Hey Phoebe! It's me! Holden.
  • Calls Mr. Antolini
  • Hey, Mr. Antolini it's Holden! Can I come to your house? I need a place to stay.
  • Sure, Holden! Anytime!
  • Holden and Mr. Antolini have a talk
  • You should really go back to school and apply yourself. You have potential to be great.
  • When things for Holden are rapidly going downhill, Holden wants to visit Phoebe. He later sneaks into his old house and visits Phoebe sleeping in her room.
  • Mr. Antolini petting Holden
  • Holden has nowhere to sleep, so he decides to call up his old teacher, Mr. Antolini, that lives nearby.
  • Holden bolting out of the house
  • Mr. Antolini and Holden talk about school.
  • Idea to head West
  • I'll go West and pretend to be deaf and mute
  • Holden wakes up to Mr. Antolini petting his head while he was sleeping. Since Holden reacted quickly, he never found out if the act by Mr. Antolini was an act of homosexuality or affection.
  • Holden runs out of Mr. Antolini house after his encounter with his teacher petting him. He heads back to the subway station were he previously hid his bag.
  • Still confused about the situation with Mr. Antolini. Holden goes through a mini psychotic break. He plans to go West and pretend to be deaf and mute so he can ignore people and act any way he wants to.
