- Train ride
- Liesel arrives at Himmel street
- Himmel Street
- Liesel's brother dies on the way to the Hubermann's house and is buried in a shallow snow grave. Liesel then steals the Gravedigger's Handbook.
- Soccer
- When Liesel first arrives at Himmel Street she refuses to exit the car until she is coaxed out by Hans.
- Liesel and Papa learning to read
- When Liesel comes out of the car she finds her new house on Himmel Street and meets her new Mama and Papa.
- Liesel writes a letter to her mom
- Liesel makes a new friend Rudy who immediately loves Liesel and plays in the street soccer games where she plays with the other children.
- Liesel has a nightly nightmare about her brother dying on the train ride and after that happens Hans comes in to teach her to read.
- Liesel steals money from her Mama's wash money to write and mail a letter to her mom that will never be answered.
