  • Texans captured san antonio believing that santa anna would arrive for months so most of the soldiers at the alamo had left to see their families. Leaving the alamo very unprotected.It turns out the santa anna was much much closer than they thought. he surrounded the alamo and waved the red flag of no mercy.

  • We have to take your only defense back to mexico
  • Where are your papers to officialize yourself?
  • William b travis, the selected leader of the alamo, only had about 30 men so he sent out the most heroic letter named 'Victory or Death". This letter was meant to get people to come help them and at least 150 came to help but Santa anna had around 6000 troops
  • Battle of Gonzales

  • (March 6 1836)The battle lasted 13 days and every single texan soldier was killed. Mexico had won but Santa anna sent out a woman named Susannah dickinson to tell sam houston what happened at the alamo and let him know that they are coming.

  • Mexico gave a cannon to a town named gonzales to help protect th etown from natives. Soon Mexico got paranoid that Texas would use the cannon against them so they sent soldiers to take it back
  • The Texans didn't see any papers so they wouldn't give them the cannon. The soldiers sent one guy back to get them and the rest of them camped across the river. At the same time the people  began  to make a flag and actually got reinforcements.
  • Texas soon fired the cannon at the Mexican soldiers and their was short battle before the Mexican soldiers retreated waving a white flag. Texans had one the first battle of the revolution.This is when Mexico realized that they turned Texas against them and this is the revolution they were afraid of.
