After I finish school I was forced to undergo surgery for my spine because it was curved. It was risky so I thought “it going to be risky.” The surgery was a success after six month i wore a body cast so my spine won’t curve again, But the body cast prevent me from playing the cello for six month I said “ I CAN’T EVEN PLAY FOR SIX WHOLE MONTH!!!!” So i started to go to concerts and watch how they play so i can improve my cello skills.
After six month I created 75 album like Among his earlier albums are Great Cello Concertos in 1989, Brahms: Sonatas for Cello & Piano in 1992, Soul of the Tango: The Music of Astor Piazzolla in 1997, Simply Baroque II — Bach & Boccherini in 2001 and other more.

In 1998 I found the Silk Road Project, To educate and study the culture of the art of music. I am the director of the Silk Road Project.
I won more than 15 grammy, I won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance with orchestra, I also won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance without orchestra, I won a Grammy for best Music Film, I won a Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance and other more.
In 2000 I was given to expand my Audience for the film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I has also found time to perform in front of the cameras on the small screen. I appeared on the West Wing, Sesame Street, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, and even on The Simpsons. More recently, I was on PBS' Faces of America with host Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., in which he learned about his ancestry.
