Eligible voters are American citizens,at least 18 years old,not convicted felons,and registered to vote.
Today you have to go through a series of events before you can be president.
Each state has a certain number of electoral votes based on representatives in congress.
some of the events included, having to be a natural born citizen, at least 35, and a U.S resident for the last 14 years.
Second, people did vote for you but the people voting were not colonists they were loyalists.
Back in the 1760s you had to become a duke and work your way up the ladder.
