  • Welcome to Rome! One of the most powerful empires in all of history.
  • Plebeian
  • There were two classes Plebeians and Patricians of people. The Plebeians had little to no power while the Patricians controlled most of Rome.
  • Patrician
  • The two classes argued about whether or no the Plebeians got rights or not.
  • The Plebeians decided to leave Rome and camp on a nearby hill until they got what they wanted. What they wanted was to have equal rights. Since the Plebeians were 95% percent of Romeś population, they made up most of the army and the farmers as well. The Patricians eventually gave them some rights in the government.
  • The Plebeians wanted more rights and for the Patricians to write down the laws. The Patricians wrote down the laws on a few plaques of stone and called them the twelve tables.
  • So after two hundred years the Plebeians finally got the rights they deserved.
