Storyboard Text

  • Medusa was a monster, one of the Gorgon sisters, and daughter of Phorkys and Keto, the children of Gaea (Earth) and Oceanus (Ocean).
  • Exposition
  • With an ugly face of a woman, and snakes instead of hair, anyone who looked at her turned to stone.
  • My Vows. I don't care.
  • Conflict
  • I do.
  • Do you take this man to be your husband?
  • She was originally golden-haired, fair maiden. After being wooed by Poseidon and falling for him, she forgot her vows and married him.
  • Rising Action
  • Athena wasn't pleased with Medusa forgetting her vows, and she wanted to punish her.
  • Climax
  • Forgetting her vows was an offense to Athena, for that she was punished by the goddess in a most terrible manner. Each wavy lock of the beautiful hair that had charmed her husband was changed into a venomous snake; her once gentle, love-inspiring eyes turned into blood-shot, furious orbs, which excited fear and disgust in the mind of the onlooker.
  • PUNISHMENT!
  • Medusa fled her home, and never to return, because she saw herself as a repulsive creature. Wandering about, dreaded and shunned by the rest of the world, she turned into a character worthy of her outer appearance.
  • Falling Action
  • I'm such a repulsive creature.
  • Resolution
  • With the curse of Athena upon her, she turned into stone whomever she gazed upon, until at last, after a life of nameless misery, the end came to her in the shape of death, at the hands of Perseus.
