  • The narrator is thinking about how much he dislikes and is annoyed by the old man's eye that resembles a vulture's.
  • Climax
  • Due to so much anger, he vsited the man's house 7 nights to stalk and watch his eye. The narrator would go into the old man's room and shine a light on his eye to watch it.
  • Falling Action
  • On the last night of his visitation, the old man woke up and the narrator froze. The narrator was so shocked and didn't know what to do since this has never happened.
  • Resolution
  • After waiting a couple hours, the narrator put the old man to his death by suffocating him with the mattress. He then cuts him up and hides the body parts under the floor boards.
  • The neighbor calls the police and they began to interrogate him. He starts acting strange due to the guilt that he feels. After talking for a while, he finally confesses to the murder of the old man.
  • After confessing, he is taken to court and found guilty for the old man's death. He was sent to prison for life due to the crime he committed.
