Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • Upon a dreary midnight, I pondered weak and weary, Over a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, while I nodded off, almost napping, suddenly there was a tapping at my chamber door. " 'Tis some visitor tapping and rapping at my door.
  • Falling Action
  • My heart grew stronger, hesitating no longer, "Sir," Said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact that you came tapping and rapping on my chamber door, I was sure that I heard you." Then I opened the door, only to be gulfed in darkness.
  • Resolution
  • "Thing of evil!- prophet still, if bird or devil!- On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; whether tempest sent, or tempest tossed thee here and tossed along shore" Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."
  • Literary Element
  • "Be that our word of parting, friend or fiend!" I shrieked upstarting - "Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Take thy beak and take it out of my heart!" Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."
  • And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, on the pallid just above my door; his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming. And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor shall be lifted-nevermore!
  • "On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before" - simile
