Hi I am a African American. My name is Eliza and I am a free slave that works at the Cook's coffee house.
When I am working Polly helps at the coffee too. One day she didn't come. We found out that she died from the yellow fever. As the days went on the Yellow fever got worse, Mother came done with it but recovered and went to go to the Lunington's farm with Mattie.
This is where I live. I live with my brother and his two twins. Ounce Mattie and mother left I started to work for the free African Society. Dr. Rush says that blacks should treat fever victims because they are imuned to it.
Ounce the frost came it killed off all of the fever and the twins that had the fever lost it and Nell too.
As the frost came I put all of the furniture from outside so it would kill all of the germs. Also with the frost people and friends came home, and I got to become part owner of the Cook's coffee house.
What I have learned from this is taking care of people is important and everyone is the same. I learned this from the free African Society.
