Storyboard Text

  • I think we should call him John
  • Predestination??
  • John Calvin was born on the 10th of July 1509 and lived in France. He was a religious leader.
  • This idea is not good and I will not follow predestination
  • John Calvin you are amazing
  • The idea of predestination sounds good
  • John Calvin had an idea called Predestination, meaning that when you were born you were destined to go to hell or heaven and there was no way of changing this. He wanted to make others believe in this as well.
  • "you must submit to supreme suffering in order to discover the completion of joy"
  • Calvin moved to Switzerland to pursue his dreams. He made the city government force all citizens to attend church several times a week and had very strict rules about what people could and could not do.
  • This idea eventually spread throughout different countries. To begin with, not many people were interested in it but after a while, it grabbed the peoples attention and they began to follow it.
  • John Calvin was excommunicated from his country because he did not have the same beliefs but this did not stop him from pursuing his dreams.
  • He went back to Germany to create Calvinism. During this time Calvin also published a book called the institutions of the Catholic Religion.
