Moses and the 11 slaves that were soon going to be free have made it to the first house that had welcomed them right in with lots of food and new shoes awaiting for all of them!
Maybe the long journey ahead of us won't be as bad if we have a house to stop at like this every so often!
The next very early morning they went out again and began to walk in the dark. One of the runaway slaves began to cry out he could not take walking anymore and said he would rather be a slave.
Moses would carry a gun with her but she never used it. It was a way for runway slaves to keep going on the journey,
Please! Do not make me go on anymore! I can't do it. It is better to be a slave then walk all night and day!
Go on or die
The young man then went on along with everyone else. Along the way Moses told them stories and cheered them up when they felt they could go no longer. She walked them all to be freedmen. She risked her life 2 a year to help other slaves to become free.
I became to love the fact that I was helping the slaves become freed slaves and that made it a whole lot better. In spite of the cold and the hard work I wouldn't rather do anything else then what I do right now.
