  • This is an example of personal development. Through personal development you start with physical growth. Physical growth is dealing with the body. Emotional growth is controlling emotions and forming relationships. Social growth is dealing with others in society. Intellectual growth deals with the ability to learn. These growth stages are shown through baby to elderly life.
  • Beginning Stage
  • Developing Stage (Begins when the last child stars school)
  • Expanding Stage
  • Launching Stage (Begins with departure of oldest, ends with departure of youngest)
  • Mid-Years Stage (All children are gone , empty nest stage)
  • These live stages include life roles and external events (or obstacles) faced during the process
  • Retirement Stage (Kids take care of parents)
  • Personal includes leisure time while also taking care of your development.
  • Life roles are interests and responsibilities. These include personal, family, and work roles.
  • Family includes taking care of your unit, through the family life stages
  • Work includes individual tasks and responsibilities given to you by your boss
  • Marriage
  • External events include family, occupational, and health changes. This includes marriage, birth, growing older, starting a career, and also becoming unemployed.
