Storyboard Text

  • During an Italian carnival the narrator, Montresor bumps into Fortunato. He asks him if he would like to share a bottle of Amontillado wine. The bottle of wine is unfortunately in his catacomb and Fortunado appears slightly ill.
  • Exposition
  • The narrator explains to the reader that Fortunato made a rude remark against him and so he is planning to get revenge against him. The reader is not informed of what Fortunato has done, all they know is it can not be forgiven.
  • Conflict
  • Rising action
  • Heres the door to the catacomb. Montresor asks Fortunato if he wants to continue forwards. Fortunato asks why he would turn back now and Montresor comments on his ill appearance.
  • When they get down into the catacomb, the Amontillado is no where to be seen. Fortunato sees a hole in the wall though. Montresor lures him towards the hole, shackles him to the wall and starts to close the wall by laying bricks.
  • Climax
  • Falling action
  • Montresor goes to lay the last few bricks of the wall. Fortunato yells for help but he was way too late. Montresor seeks his revenge on Fortunato by sealing up the wall while he is still living.
  • HELP!!!
  • Well, turns out the narrator leaves with out Fortunato. Unfortunately for Fortunato nobody saw him go down to the catacomb which means no one will find him.
  • Resolution
