One day, J.J. Thomson was perfecting his raisin bun model when he was greeted by Ernest Rutherford.
Rutherford had heard about Thomson's raisin bun model, but had concerns that his theories were not accurate.
My gold foil experiment has proven that most of the atom is empty space.
I would love to learn more about the nucleus and what happened in your experiment
Rutherford’s gold foil experiment showed that alpha particles bounced off the gold foil in different directions, leaving the atom with a positively charged core, or nucleus.
You have a great theory about electrons, however my experiment proved that they orbit what I call the “nucleus"
Wow, what a fantastic theory and experiment!
Rutherford and Thomson spent the rest of the evening talking about each of their theories and the discovery of the nucleus, and it’s importance.
