Why do I feel I'm getting something taken out of my pocket?
Here Thorin is telling Bilbo that now is his "time to shine". Basically he needs to prove himself worthy of what he was expected to do.
Bilbo decides it's a good idea if he pick-pockets one of the trolls!
They trolls, Tom, Bill and Bert see that Bilbois trying to pick-pocket of them and threatens to roast him. They ask if there are anymore of them and he TOTALLY gives it away, but then quickly covers it up. "'Yes, lots,' said Bilbo before he remembered not to give his friends away. 'No, not at all, not one!' he said immediately afterwards." ( page 30 )
At that moment all the dwarves come out because he thought he was hurt or in trouble. The trolls gather them all up and are arguing about what to do with them. Then Gandalf appears and keeps starting fights with them so they will last all night.

They burnt up! Tom, Bill and Bert and the rest of the trolls burn up when are exposed to natural sunlight, that's why they hide in caves. So the group celebrated and thanks Gandalf!
