  • Mexico Welcomes Large Number of Anglo-American Immgrants
  • Welcome
  • 1835 New Dictator of Mexico
  • We lost our territory because of you!
  • Battle of Gonzales 
  • I command you to give us all of your weapons!
  • If you want them, come take them and just see what happens. 
  • Mexico welcomed Anglo Americans because they lacked the population numbers to settle in the North. When more people came to Mexico and settled in they didn't adapt to Mexico meaning that they continued practices of American culture and didn't carry on Mexican culture like the language. 
  • Battle of the Alamo
  • The 1835 helped out Mexico constantly defending it from foreigners and other troubles and soon became dictator López de Santa Anna was the 1835 dictator. Some of Santa Anna's military mistakes made Mexico lose over half of it's territory.
  • Battle of San Jacinto
  • During this battle the Mexican army came take all of the settlers weapons and the Americans refused. They pulled out a cannon and a woman layed a handmade flag over the cannon that had a picture of the cannon taunting them and saying if you want it so bad, come and take it. 
  • Texas Statehood
  • I here by pronounce Texas is the 28th state from now on. 
  • Alamo's 200 defenders were commanded by James Bowie, William Travis, and Davy Crockett which held out for 13 days until Mexican invaders finally overpowered them. Which became a battle cry for Americans against Mexicans saying "Remember the Alamo!" 
  • Remember the Alamo!
  • This battle lasted under 20 minutes. After this battle, the U.S. would soon gain a bunch of territory from Mexico from the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. 
  • The battle is already done? 
  • Texas became a state in December 29, 1845 without any problems.
