Storyboard Text

  • Act 4, Scene 1- Father Lawrence's Medicine
  • Act 4, Scene 2- Another Wedding
  • Act 4, Scene 3- Juliet drinks the medicine
  • Knowing that she would have to marry Paris, Juliet tells Friar Lawrence that she wants to die. Instead of killing her, he comes up with a plan that only the two know about. He gives her a very strong medicine that will make her sleep for two days straight. The family will think shes dead and put her in the family tomb, and a messenger will alert Romeo. Then he will go get her and they will run away together.
  • Act 4, Scene 4- The Capulets find Juliet
  • Remembering the plan, Juliet needs to make her family believe that she's fine with marrying Paris. She goes home to everyone planning and setting up for the wedding. When she finds her father, she tells him that she realizes she was over-reacting when she heard about the marriage and that she's thought about it and is happy to marry Paris. Hearing this makes Lord Capulet move up the wedding day.
  • A day goes by and nobody knows about the plan except Juliet and Father Lawrence. This is the night she is going to take the medicine, since it's a day before the wedding. The plan is that when she goes to sleep she will take the medicine and when it's time for the wedding she will be asleep. So she takes the medicine and goes into a deep sleep.
  • The next morning Juliet is still in a deep sleep. The nurse is sent in to get Juliet. When she finds her, she thinks that she is dead and her and some other ladies carry her out to where Lord and Lady Capulet are setting up the wedding. When they bring her out, everyone is sobbing as Juliet lays, cold, in her mother and father's laps. This is when Paris and Friar Lawrence show up playing wedding music.
