You cannot blame me for anything, I was in my house the whole time.
I did not mean to shoot Pete Van Horn.
Tommy is the kid that has been messing with all of us.
“Maybe you better tell us. Nothing’s working on this street. Nothing. No lights, no power, no radio. Nothing except one car-yours!” (Serling 76). This quote means they started to blame a neighbor that has not come out during the situation, then suddenly his car turned on.
“Charlie slowly raises the gun. As the figure gets closer and closer, he suddenly pulls the trigger” (Serling 82). My reasoning for this quote is Charlie shot a man that was walking down the street, Pete Van Horn, then shot him because he thought the figure was a monster.
“It’s… it’s the kid. It’s Tommy. He’s the one” (Serling 84). This quote means Charlie blamed a kid just because everyone started to riot against him.
