Storyboard Description

Balcony Scene (Act II, Scene II)

Storyboard Text

  • Juliet is as beautiful and radiant as the sun. I want to touch her and tell her how much I love her, but she is talking to herself and not to me.
  • Why does Romeo have to be a Montague? One of us should change our name so we can be together.
  • If you say you truly love me, I will give up my family name.
  • Your voice is familiar. Are you Romeo? How did you get here when the walls are so high? My family will kill you if they find you.
  • No obstacle can keep me from you. It is dark enough that your family will not see me, but if you do not love me, I will welcome my death.
  • I wish I could deny the things you overheard me say, as I should not fall in love with you so quickly. If you love me, tell me truthfully and do not lie.
  • I swear, by my heart's true love -
  • Don’t swear your love, even though it will make me happy. We are rushing into things, and I want them to last.
  • My nurse is calling, but if you truly love me, send me a message tomorrow and I will marry you. If not, tell me and leave me alone with my sadness.
  • My soul awaits your message.
  • I want to let you leave, but I am spoiled like a child who only allows his pet bird to hop a short distance from him before grabbing him back. Goodnight, I will see you again tomorrow.
  • I wish I belonged to you like a pet bird. Sleep well, though I wish I could stay with you. Now I will go see the priest to get his help.
