  • In 1911, there is a revolution that creates a republic. Sun Yat Sen is a political idealist that is looking to unify China under the republic.
  • Long March, 1934
  • We'll get the Nationalist

  • On this day, more than 3,000 students from 13 colleges in Beijing held a big demonstration against the decision of the Versailles Peace Conference, which had drew up the treaty that officially ended WWI.
  • Japanese Invasion, 1937
  • Let's resist Japan
  • The Nationalist & the Communist captured Beijing in 1928 & unified China by ending the warlord rule.
  • In October 1934, during a civil war, embattled Chinese Communists broke through Nationalist enemy lines & began an epic flight from their encircled headquarters in southwest China. Known as the Long March because the trek lasted a year & covered 4,000 miles.
  • Japan's invasion of China in 1937 brought a halt to China's Civil War. Both sides agreed it was better to collectively resist Japan. The Nationalist Army took on the bulk of resistance & was severely weakend. But the Communist Army actually grew during Japanese occupation.
