• After leaving the store, Billy met up with his friend Willy at the tennis court to play a few games. Billy is a pro at tennis and knows that the angle of the net between them is 40 degrees and the distance between the two of them is 15 feet. Billy again uses trigonometry to determine that 15 Sin (40)=9.6ft. If Billy hits the ball 9.6ft in the air he will easily win the game.

• Billy just arrived at the grocery store and is trying to figure out how far away is car is from the building. He knows that the building is about 14 yards away and the angle at which his car is facing the building is 67 degrees. He decides to use the good ole trigonometry that his teacher taught him and finds out that Cos(67) x 14=5.47, which rounds to 5.5. He is 5.5 yards away.

• After losing the tennis game, Willy challenges Billy to a game of h-o-r-s-e. Billy is also a pro at basketball and knows he can beat Willy easily with the help of trigonometry. Billy knows the angle of his shot his 50 degrees and the distance between the net and rim is 2 meters. Billy determines that Tan (50)x2= 2.38, which rounds to 2.4. 2.4 meters is the distance that the ball and the rim must be in-between each other in order for Billy to make all of his shots.

• After losing the tennis game, Willy challenges Billy to a game of h-o-r-s-e. Billy is also a pro at basketball and knows he can beat Willy easily with the help of trigonometry. Billy is standing 18.2 meters away from the goal and the basketball rim is 7.6 meters long. Billy determines that Tan θ=7.6/18.2= 22.7. That is the angle in which Billy must shoot in order to make all of his shots.

• After a long day of Trig-filled fun, Billy can finally enjoy some quality time.
• The End!
