  • I'm James Madison the fourth President of the United States.
  • The Native American Impressment
  • If you help us kill and slaughter the people of the United States we will give you guns.
  • Yes we will kill them for the trade of fire arms and ammunition.
  • Phase 1 (The Naval Battles of the Great Lakes with Britain)
  • Fire!

  • James Madison was the 4rth U.S president of the United States for 2 terms. He declared war on Britain sending out naval fleets to fight British ships. A treaty was sent to the United States but it didn't get there in time to settle this conflict.
  • Phase 2 (Burning of Washington D.C and Fort McHenry)
  • The British Army trade guns with the Native American chief Tecumseh in the western part of the United States to help them fight along there side to defeat the United States.
  • Phase 3 (Battle of New Orleans)
  • Oliver Hazard, took command of the U.S Navy in Lake Eerie and battled the British in ships until his ship was destroyed. But Oliver Hazard continued to fight and took off in a small boat and rowed to an enemy boat and destroyed the British fleet.
  • Effects of The War of 1812
  • Affect #1: The American industry grows becuase the U.S would usually get goods from Britain but after the conflict with Britain the U.S started making it's own goods.
  • Affect #2: The Native American resistance fell apart in the Ohio River Valley opening up United States expansion to the West.
  • By 1814 Britain defeated Napoleon and his army, so they focused more on the war with The United States. Britain marched down through Canada and started invading the United States. They terrorized Washington D.C and burned down the original White House and attacked Fort McHenry from sea.
  • Andrew Jackson and his army face British Troops in New Orleans. He and his men had a big advantage because they were on a hill. The United States takes a great victory ending the war killing 2000 British troops and only having 71 casualties in the Battle of New Orleans making A. Jackson a war hero.
  • Once again, the United States defeated Britain. With this victory changes were made to the United States that still affect us today.
  • Affect #5 The Federalist Party called the "War Hawks" who encouraged war met up secretly at the Hartford Convention making them look like traitors and un-patriotic was the stop for the Federalists for a very long time.
  • Affect #3: The United States gains prestige, power and respect on a worldwide basis.
  • Affect #4: Nationalism and pride swept the nation, making a lot of Americans more patriotic.
