Nathan Bedford Forrest was born on July 13, 1821 in Bedford County, Tennessee. For most of his life he lived in wealth and was a self taught man.
Bedford Forrest is always associated with the creation of the KKK and was part of one of the most controversial episodes of Civil War, "Remember Fort Pillow".
Nathan Bedford is still remembered to this day due to his creation of the KKK,which killed many freemen, and his actions in the "Fort Pillow Massacre" that killed many troops.
Nathan Bedford Forrest had no military education nor training, but was still promoted up the ranks until he was a general officer.
Bedford hurt the nation as he was apart of one of the most controversial episodes of the Civil War and was against blacks having rights.
Bedford Forrest once killed two killed two men with a pistol and a bowie knife after these two killed his uncle over business disputes.
