Aadi Bhandari - Garlic and Saphires - Part 1
By c426a1a9, Updated
Hi, i'm Ruth Reichl, the food critic of the Los Angeles Times.
It all started when Warren Hoge, the assistant managing editor of the New York Times called.
Would you like to work for the New York times?
On her plane ride to New York, Ruth realized that she had to make a plan to not get recognized while she was critiquing, and she knew exactly who to call.
If every restaurant in New York knew what I looked like, I had to look like someone else.
Every resturant in New York has your picture up in their kitchen.
As soon as Ruth got off of the plane, she called her mom's old friend and acting coach Claudia Banks.
Of course i'll help you disguise yourself.
Claudia and Ruth sat together and thought about the disguises Ruth could try.
That will do.
How about a retired high-school teacher?
With some new clothes and a lot of makeup, Claudia was able to turn Ruth into a whole new person named Molly.
You look like a whole new person!
