Moses Fleetwood Walker
I was pitcher on the Toledo Blue Stockings.
I am going to write my book entitled "The Integration of Sports History".
My first home run was in 1887.
Moses Fleetwood Walker was an African American who became the first black Major League Baseball player. He was a pitcher for the Toledo Blue Stockings in 1884.
Moses Fleetwood Walker made many accomplishments not only in baseball. Besides being a baseball player he was also a writer and an inventor. He wrote a book titled "The Integration of Sports History".
He is important in African American history because he was one of the first black baseball players to be accepted in Major League Baseball. From this he showed many people that you can't let racial boundaries stop you from reaching your goals.
