  • MacBeth Leaves the Group
  • Who should against his murderer shut the door, Not bear the knife myself.
  • Lady MacBeth finds MacBeth
  • Why have you left the chamber?
  • MacBeth tells Lady Macbeth About His Doubts
  • We will proceed no longer in this business.
  • MacBeth leaves the chamber, and is left alone with his thoughts. He thinks himself out of the plan to kill King Duncan due to all of the trust that Duncan has in MacBeth.
  • Lady MacBeth Calls MacBeth A Coward
  • Due to MacBeth leaving, Lady MacBeth was left alone with King Duncan and Banquo. Instead of waiting for MacBeth to come back, she went to go find him to see what he was doing and why he had left.
  • Lady MacBeth Explain That She Never Backs Down
  • After changing his mind, MacBeth had to tell Lady MacBeth. He told her that he could not kill Duncan because the King had too much trust in MacBeth, and he did not want people's opinions of him to change.
  • Lady MacBeth Goes Over The Plan
  • Lady MacBeth was almost insulted that MacBeth did not want to go through with the plan anymore. She said that by him backing down he was less of a man than she had thought.
  • To be more than what you are, you would be so much more the man.
  • After telling MacBeth that he was no man at all, she told him that even though he did not want to kill Duncan, they would anyway because she would never back down from a plan. She even goes as far as to say if she was told or planned to kill her baby, that she would do it.
  • Dashed the brains out [of my babe], had I so sworn as you have done to this
  • Instead of letting MacBeth debate any further, Lady MacBeth tells him the plan and gives him no option of whether he agrees or not. They will get King Duncan's guards drunk at night, and then they will kill Duncan with a sword.
  • When in swinish sleep their drenched natures lies as in a death
