  • In the exposition of "Holes", Stanley gets arrested for stealing a pair of shoes. The court decided that he should go to Camp Green Lake. Also, some of the characters are introduced. Some of these characters are Stanley (the main character), Mr.Sir, Mr.Pendanski, & some of the kids in Stanley's group.
  • Climax
  • In the rising action of "Holes", Stanley finds a gold tube. He gives it to X-Ray and he gives it to the Warden. The Warden think it is interesting and lets him take the rest of the day off.
  • Falling Action
  • Also, in the rising action of "Holes", Stanley and Zigzag into a fight and Zero gets involved and chokes Zigzag. Mr. Pendanski breaks it up and says that Zero is dumb and can't do anything. This makes mad and he runs away. After a few days, Stanley runs after Zero. They go to the mountains and plan to go back and see if there is any treasure in the hole that Stanley found the gold lipstick tube.
  • Resolution
  • In the Climax of "Holes", Stanley and Zero come back and search for the hole where Stanley found the golden tube. A little after they got there, the counselors came and saw that they had yellow-spotted lizards all over them.
  • Stanley Yelnats
  • In the falling action of "Holes", Zero notices that the suitcase has Stanley's name on it. He gets it away from the Warden. Stanley's lawyer demands to take Stanley back and Stanley goes with her. But, Stanley only agrees to go if Zero can go with him. The lawyer asks for Zero's records, but there are none. So, the lawyer takes Stanley and Zero with her.
  • Stanley Yelnats
  • In the resolution of "Holes", Stanley and Zero each get $1000. Stanley uses his money to buy his family a new house and Zero uses his money to hire a private investigator.
